Play It Safe

Play It Safe is a comprehensive program specifically designed to empower middle school children (6th-8th grade) with the necessary skills & knowledge to navigate the digital world responsibly. With a strong focus on "netiquette" & online safety, this program equips students to identify & address bullying & harassment in various digital platforms such as text messaging, email, & social networking.

Throughout the curriculum, students gain a deep understanding of how to safely engage with their peers while reducing the risks associated with online predators. Each grade level introduces different risk factors, allowing for meaningful discussions, active engagement, & skill development in critical areas such as identity theft, digital reputation, sexting, risky online relationships, and disinformation.

Recognizing the fluid nature of the digital landscape, our curriculum is updated frequently to stay abreast of the ever-changing trends & challenges impacting our children. By doing so, we ensure that students receive the most relevant & up-to-date information necessary to navigate the online world confidently.

The program is thoughtfully structured to be delivered over five regular class periods, providing ample time for students to delve into the topics at hand. Through interactive lessons, group discussions, & engaging activities, Play It Safe fosters a safe & inclusive learning environment where students can develop a strong sense of digital citizenship.

By equipping middle school children with the knowledge & skills to navigate online spaces responsibly, we empower them to protect themselves & their peers while fostering a positive online community.
