PREVENTION

Prevention

Bullying involves an extremely complex interplay of relational, attitudinal, cultural, behavioral, individual, & systemic factors. There is no quick fix for bullying problems. Incorporating successful programming into schools requires time & collaboration. We are talking about a need to change the climate in the school community - top down, bottom up, & outward to parents & community. Our evidence-based prevention programs were developed in response to the growing number of desperate parents and suffering children seeking help for a mental health crisis as the result of peer abuse and mistreatment, i.e., bullying.

Buddies Not Bullies has a comprehensive prevention curriculum with interventions designed according to different developmental needs & every grade level K-12. Parenting resources are available at any time for free to any caregiver in our community & beyond. Professional development programs are available to any school & district who desires them. Our unique programs meet the challenges that our children & families face as they navigate increasingly complex social situations; helping them to build the skills necessary to build & sustain healthy relationships.

Our flagship program, All In, aims to create a school environment that fosters awareness, skill building, & intervention. By directly integrating these essential elements into the fabric of the school culture, we empower students to become advocates for positive change.

Students receive comprehensive instruction on various aspects of bullying and conflict resolution. They gain a deeper understanding of normal conflict, the different forms of bullying, & the crucial distinction between tattling & reporting.

Equipped with this knowledge, students develop strategies to effectively respond to bullying incidents, whether they find themselves as the target or a bystander. They also learn how to confidentially report bullying, ensuring that no incident goes unnoticed.

In order to effectively impart these skills, All In follows an experiential curriculum that provides students with numerous opportunities to practice & apply what they learn. Among the wide range of skills covered, All In focuses on responsible decision-making, fostering a sense of ownership for one's actions, empathic communication, conflict resolution, & the art of making meaningful apologies.

All In comprises a total of 20 classes, thoughtfully designed to be delivered throughout the school year. This pacing enables students to retain & internalize the skills they acquire, ensuring lasting impact.

YOU-Niquely Social

At Buddies Not Bullies, we help elementary school students understand that it’s okay to be different & have different ideas, while still getting along. We promote a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued & respected. One thing that sets us apart is that we involve teenagers who may be at risk as mentors in our program. These mentors are an important part of our final event, a fun 2-day camp.
